FAQ
Climbing the highest mountain in the world certainly prompts a few questions (a lot of them I've asked myself) - this list will be constantly updated I'm sure!
Am I raising for Charity?
Absolutely! I am so pleased to confirm that as of December 2025, the charity partner for this climb is ISPCC.ie . An incredible organisation that aims to support and protect the innocence of childhood.
All money raised will be split 50/50 with ISPCC in aid of their amazing work. If we fully surpass any logistical costs, any and all remaining funds will be sent directly to the ISPCC team.
Why the North Route?
I'm choosing to climb the north route of Everest instead of the usual south route, here's why. Sure, it's tougher, but there’s no icefall to worry about, which is a big plus. Plus, the north route usually has fewer people, so I won’t have to deal with those long queues that have been one of my biggest concerns since the idea of climbing Everest first arrived on my radar.
Who will you climb with?
I'll be climbing Mount Everest with Furtenbach Adventures known for their incredible 100% summit success rate, they are the trusted experts behind the rapid ascent of Everest in 2025 (Click Here). With their expert guidance and support, I'm ready to go!
How will you fund it?
The honest answer... I'm not 100% certain. between my savings and committing the next 8 months to no 'luxuries', I think I can make it but honestly I'll be willing to try and accept anything. Donations of course will be so welcome and greatly appreciated and if I can use any of my past experience from big mountains to endurance races to support anyone else's aspirations, I will.
How long will you be gone?
Climbing Everest is such an exciting adventure that usually takes around 42 days. This time gives climbers a chance to get used to the high altitude, build up their strength, and stay safe during the climb. Each step of the journey is carefully planned, from setting up base camp to making the push for the summit, so everyone is ready for the challenges ahead. It's not just about reaching the summit, it's also about soaking in the stunning views bonding with fellow climbers along the way!
Are you worried?
Climbing Everest is my ultimate goal, and while it does come with its worries and challenges, I believe pursuing my dream is key for being the 'best version of myself'. The thrill of reaching the summit and conquering a monumental feat drives me forward. I can't imagine looking back one day and regretting chasing after what truly matters to me. Embracing this adventure is a vital part of who I am and who I want to be
Why Everest?
You know, climbing Mount Everest is my way of figuring myself out while dealing with some crazy weather and altitude stuff! Seriously, who needs a spa day when I can tackle icy slopes and have an adventure? When I finally hit the summit, it’ll be my “I did it!” moment, and hopefully inspire others to ditch the couch for a mountain. Plus, standing on top of the world? That’s pretty epic, right?
